From “Harvester” series by Erik Castro

Join Erik Castro, award-winning photojournalist, in a lively discussion about the state of his craft.

Erik Castro is an award-winning photojournalist.  Erik started his career as the news industry was facing financial challenges. The industry needed photojournalists to embrace new digital storytelling tools  and Erik seized the moment to become a one-man visual storyteller. The evening is a presentation of his early and most recent multi-media work including a discussion about working in the industry today. Erik has received multiple National Press Photographers Association Awards for his multimedia work, wildfire coverage and for his year-long homeless project, BROKEN. He regularly produces photography and videography humanizing complex issues such as homelessness, food insecurity and severe disabilities.
