Jayati Kaushik is a printmaker and visual artist from New Delhi, India, with over thirteen years of dedicated practice in intaglio printmaking, particularly drypoint, linocut, and wood engraving. Her engagement with drypoint- a technique rarely practiced or taught in India- has been entirely self-initiated and self-developed.Her commitment to advancing printmaking in India stems from a deep-rooted feminine instinct to protect and care- mirroring the struggle many women face in seeking safety and belonging. Through her work, she intertwines printmaking techniques to express themes of protection, vulnerability, and strength. Jayati will share her journey balancing tradition and contemporary storytelling through printmaking. Jayati’s work has been exhibited widely at the India Art Fair, Mumbai Art Fair, Delhi Contemporary Art Week, and Art Dubai. She holds a BFA in Printmaking from the College of Art, New Delhi, and an MFA in Printmaking from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, where she graduated as the national topper. Jayati will be participating at In Cahoots Residency, a printmaking studio in Petaluma.
