Three Colors & White: Building Strong Paintings from the Ground Up | 2-day Workshop with George Scribner
$185 for non-members, $175 for Members. There is a limit of 16 students, so reserve your spot now.
Discover a simple yet powerful approach to painting by focusing on the three essential elements of successful artwork: drawing, value, and color. In this two-day workshop, George will guide students through the fundamentals of composition and drawing, including how to create a strong focal point, measure proportions accurately, and lead the viewer's eye through a painting. Next, participants will explore the critical role of value by painting with only Ultramarine Blue and White, learning how light and dark relationships create depth, form, and visual impact. Finally, students will unlock the secrets of color harmony using only the three primary colors and white, mixing a wide range of vibrant palettes while exploring warm and cool color relationships, color temperature, and atmospheric perspective. Through demonstrations and a series of color studies, this workshop provides artists of all levels with practical tools for creating stronger, more confident paintings.
This is an intermediate painting class. Students will be asked to bring their own material. A list of required material will be provided to all students upon sign up.
This class is located in the PAC classroom. Two days, 12-4PM each day.
