Public Art Speaker Panel
Thursday, August 14, 2025
6:00-7:00pm (doors open at 5:30)
$10 donation
As part of the ‘Placemaking through Public Art’ exhibit, the Petaluma Public Art Committee (PPAC) is excited to host an artist speaker panel to discuss the importance of public art. Whether downtown, on the banks of the river, or along our major traffic corridors, public art overtly and subtly impacts our experience of place. It can give a neighborhood a facelift or pop of interest, deepen community connection, increase tourist traffic, or simply put a smile on your face. Grab a map of our public art locations on display, meet a few of the artists behind the artworks, and learn of their approach to public art. Bring your questions!
Panelists: Artists David Duskin and Ricky Watts; Theo Watson, Interactive Installation Artist and Co-Founder Design I/O; Liz Uribe, VP and Treasurer of ArtStart, a program for youth; and Petaluma Art Specialist Melissa Abercrombie.
